This annual gathering will include discussion of both local and national food and hunger issues and tools for advocacy with our elected members of Congress.

Plenary Presentation:

"Nourishing Our Future and the Farm Bill:     Policy, Politics, Action"

Andrea Faiano, State Organizer for Pennsylvania, Bread for the World.

The Farm Bill: Last year Bread held 29 regional listening sessions and many other stakeholder meetings on how to build a healthy, equitable, and sustainable food system via the Farm Bill. Although Congress simply approved a one-year extension of the 2018 Farm Bill in 2023, it is anticipated that Congress will finally negotiate a new Farm Bill in 2024.
Nourishing Our Future: This year Bread is holding many more listening sessions, hosted by food pantries, soup kitchens, and other emergency feeding programs to define priorities for legislation focused on child hunger, such as WIC (Women, Infants and Children), the Child Tax Credit, and international aid programs.

Workshop Topics*
